Job Description
LOCATION: Southern California
POSITION: Water Plant Operator III
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Grade III Water Treatment Operator certificate issued past the California Department of Public Health
Task SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the company's water treatment or reverse osmosis facility; the functioning and aid in the supervision of a direct filtration and reverse osmosis facility; collection water samples for chemical testing purposes and to ensure the rubber and efficient delivery of clean water to residents.
SCHEDULE: TBD Based off company needs. Must be able to piece of work standby, holidays, weekends and overtime as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide assistance to the supervisor in the coordination and supervision of a straight filtration or reverse osmosis facility
- Performs a multifariousness of skilled maintenance duties involved in the operation and upkeep of plant equipment, facilities, and product wells
- Operator Training
- Monitors plant for efficient operation and safety and plant equipment for defects
- Reading of meters, gauges and charts; regulates h2o flows in accord with established procedures
- Adjustments and calibration of feed machinery for a variety of chemicals to continue handling at prescribed standards
- Collection and labeling of water samples for chemical testing purposes
- Adjustments of pump settings and chemical feed settings
- Record keeping of operating logs and reporting of malfunctions
- Operates and inspection establish equipment including pumps, valves, electrical motors, switch gear, compressors, blowers, chemical mixers, engines, generators and pumps and other centrolineal equipment
- Cleaning and maintenance of equipment and buildings, including painting
- Calls for maintenance aid in the event of serious breakdowns
- Inspects equipment to determine operating condition and makes necessary adjustment
- Changes chemical tanks and cylinders
- Performs all necessary control tests and calculations to maintain efficient operations
- Performs plant beginning-up and shutdown
- Schedules preventive maintenance to equipment
- Conducts routine and special tests related to water quality and chemical science
- Orders repair parts, supplies, and laboratory chemicals
- Records results of test and other measurements and plots data on graphs
- Performs other duties every bit assigned by straight supervisor
ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Equivalent to the completion of twelfth grade
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (verbally and written)
- Valid California Commuter's License
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a chapters performing functions relative to the functioning and maintenance of a water handling facility.
- Knowledge of:
- Operations, services and activities of a surface water straight filtration water treatment or contrary osmosis facility.
- Principles and procedures of water handling plant operations.

- Tools and equipment used in the performance and maintenance of motors, engines, pumps and other water treatment constitute equipment.

- Operational and safety regulations pertaining to water handling establish operations and vehicle and equipment usage.
- Principles of h2o sampling and testing.
- Chemical and biological reactions in the handling process.
- Laboratory practices and techniques.
- Ability to:
- Operate product wells, reverse membrane trains, iron and manganese and granulated agile carbon (GAC) systems.
- Operate distribution system using SCADA controls.
- Collect a variety of water samples and conduct appropriate tests.
- Operate plant equipment and appropriate vehicles.
- Operate office equipment including computers.
- Ensure drinking water is in compliance with State and Federal guidelines and regulations.
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Employee frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. Employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Employee must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds
Employee may be exposed to racket, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, electrical energy, radiant energy, toxic materials, and choppy atmospheric condition conditions
